Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure if Drop the Mic is a fit for your event?

Q: What do you charge?

Our pricing depends on the type of event, location, and performance length.

Our typical minimum is $300, which includes 45–60 minutes of performance time.

Custom videograms or recorded cover songs start at $250.

For non-profits and community festivals with limited budgets, we’re often able to work within your budget if on-site tipping is permitted.

The best way to get accurate pricing is to tell us a bit about your event — we’ll follow up with options.

Q: Do you have a repertoire list we can choose from?

Yes. We’re happy to provide a list of songs currently in our repertoire upon request.

We typically aren’t able to accommodate last-minute special requests, but new songs can be learned with ample notice (a minimum of two months) depending on availability.

Q: Can you share examples of the types of songs you perform?

Yes. Our repertoire spans pop and rock favorites from multiple decades. Here’s a short sample to give you a feel for our style:

70s

80s

90s

2000s

Today

A full repertoire list is available upon request.

Q: What are your technical requirements?

We’re flexible and experienced with a variety of setups.

We can provide our own sound system if needed. In that case, we simply require access to power and enough space for eight performers plus speakers, indoors or outdoors.

If you’re providing sound, we require eight wireless microphones, including one configured for vocal percussion.

We’re happy to coordinate directly with your tech team or venue.

Q: Do you perform at house concerts or backyard events?

Yes — and we love them.

We’ve performed on decks, patios, and in backyards where guests relax on blankets or chairs. These events are fun, intimate, and a great fit for our all-vocal setup.

Q: How far in advance should we book?

Earlier is always better, especially for holiday events and festivals, which tend to fill quickly. That said, we’re happy to check availability even if your event date is approaching.
